Brandt Maxwell is a professional meteorologist with extensive experience in operational forecasting, climatology, and applied meteorological analysis. He spent 30 years as a meteorologist in the National Weather Service, mostly in San Diego, and in addition to forecasts, warnings, and communication of weather products for decision support, he supported operations with computer programming, numerical modeling, training and research. A highlight of his career was helping other countries build their meteorological programs, including in Central America, Egypt, Kyrgyzstan and Myanmar.

Brandt earned a B.S. and M.S. in Atmospheric Science from the University of Kansas and spent an extra two years at Pennsylvania State University in pursuit of a Ph.D. He has the Certified Consulting Meteorologist (CCM #772) designation from the American Meteorological Society. With this background, including work experience and exploring climatological data sets, Brandt can support a wide range of applications including aviation operations, legal and insurance investigations, research projects, and weather-sensitive decision making.

Brandt is originally from Kansas but has lived in San Diego since 1995, where the weather is usually suitable for outdoor activities, as well as growing unusual foods in the garden. Brandt has always enjoyed international travel and has been to over 100 countries around the world.
